FOR REAL #3: Ready To Be Soft Battle

Brujas Collective

Ready To Be Soft is the first No-Boundaries Battle in Hanover. Battles are spaces of encounter, rivalry, and victory, but also spaces of care and togetherness, where marginalised communities gain visibility. In the New Town Hall, where city politics are made, the politics of battling are reconsidered. The Brujas Collective has invited a fantastic line-up of international artists — the perfect opportunity to showcase the latest skills! Glitz and glitter settle over the marble, stucco, and ornate columns as competition turns into collaboration and inhibitions become a springboard.

Everyone is welcome to take part in the battle — whether actively or as a spectator, with or without disabilities, beginner or advanced dancers, and open to all dance styles.

Registrations (for dancers) will be possible from 15 DEZ via email to readytobesoft@realdance.de. Detailed information on registration, accessibility, and the schedule will follow shortly.

Brujas Collective is an alliance of eight women who came together in 2024 in the context of dance and theatre. They work towards the de-academisation of art and education by bringing dance styles labelled as “urban” to the stage, telling forgotten stories through movement. They operate at the intersection of dance and performance, as well as political and cultural education. Their personal life experiences and deep friendships flow into everything they do. Their performances often present visions of social utopias, creating new realities through their non-profit practice. In times of division, they aim to bring people together.
