Showing with feedback session

Tiago Manquinho and Yanel Barbeito / act:on

Tiago Manquinho, one of Lower Saxony’s most influential choreographers and a Real Dance friend from the very beginning, presents an excerpt from his current collaboration with choreographer Yanel Barbeito. The collaboration brings together two artists whose bodies, experiences, and perspectives on movement are shaped by different realities of life. Two biographies meet in an open research process. The work explores how trust, perception, and relationships emerge in shared space. A dance dialogue about closeness and distance, shaped by the social conditions that inform our relationship to dance. The audience is invited to join a discussion with the artists after the performance.

act:on is a project that includes a dance ensemble and a wide range of socio-cultural projects. It serves as a platform where artists can collaborate both in the context of dance productions and in community projects. act:on promotes social justice and equal opportunities - not only on stage - and addresses themes of diversity, society, inclusion, empowerment, and transformation. act:on was initiated by choreographer Tiago Manquinho out of a need to integrate the socially relevant issues present in his stage works into the working process and relationship with the audience. It functions as an informal structure for artistic exchange through dance and as a supportive framework for strengthening the presence of dance in society.
